The last word on baseball this year.

So the Phillies won. While I wasn't 100% correct on my post season predictions, I did get the winner correct, so 10 bonus points for me. Congrats Phils, and I don't think we have heard the end of the Rays yet.

In other baseball/election news, did ya watch the best infomercial yesterday? Granted, I blew it. I screwed up the time and missed the whole thing. But I know what YouTube channel I'll be on at lunch. Anyway, there is this Scholastic News reporter Elizabeth Conway that has been talking with candidates this election year. During a recent one-on-one sit down with Barack she asked a few "either/or" fun questions and got the following response to one:

What did you ask Obama? I said, "You're a tough guy, I'm a tough girl living in a tough world. What advice do you have for tough people like me to make a difference in the world?" I also created five fun facts where I give two choices and he picks one. . . . For Red Sox or Cubs, he goes "neither." All his staff people cracked up laughing.

"Neither". Man....I LOVE THIS GUY!!!

Thank goodness she's not Noah.

Check out Ms. Palin in this pic:

Look at her - so proud. Signing autographs in her fancy glasses and colorful scarf around her n....

Wait a minute. Look closer at that scarf. Right above the blur of the marker it definitely says "Vote", but what is that animal printed on the material? The GOP's logo is an elephant, and the Dem's is a donkey. Here's what they look like:

That is definitely NOT an elephant. One would think if you are going to drop $150k on clothes to make your image look better, you would pay a little more attention to what you actually purchase.

And before you ask, Sarah - no, just cuz you wear that scarf, you can't join our party. Now go away.

{Looking for the number to U-Haul}

Above you see what a GOP woman's group in California thinks is decent campaign material. They put this out because they think electing Obama would put his face on food stamps. The leader of this group of morons, Diana Fedele, claims she didn't think it was offensive and anything placed on the "bill" was just food to her and she never meant to make it racist.

I really think it's time to just leave this country. We have learned and taught nothing in the past 150 years. It it still acceptable to some people to judge simply by how someone looks with no regard to their character. I want to pack up and leave. And the rest of us that find this offensive should leave too. Let this country fall to pieces - I don't wanna live with these narrow-minded jerks as my neighbors any longer.

And if the money isn't enough, this pretty much seals the deal:

2+2 =....er.....let me get back to you on that

Senator John McCain continues to try and prove to the world how he is the man that should be elected the 44th president of the United States. In that, and based directly on some discussion during debate #2 with Barack Obama, the McCain website posted a press release detailing the 100 economists that agree with Sen. McCain's policy on fixing this dreadful money situation we are currently dying through. You can read it here.

It appears that McCant, among the other things he is unable to do (like use the internet), seems to be unable to add as well. The list has only 90 names. Yup - 90. And this man wants us to trust him to solve all our economic struggles?

BAAAAAAAAANNERMAAAAAAAAAAN!

Baseball is over (unfortunately) and it's time for Blackhawks hockey. What a glorious time of the year. Fast action, bone jarring hits, 100mph frozen disks flying all over the place - LOVE IT! Since we had a predict-a-thon for MLB, let's do the same for the NHL:

East:
Atlantic - Penguins
Northeast - Canadians
Southest - Capitals

West:
Central - Blackhawks
Northwest - Wild
Pacific - Sharks

And the other post-season teams:
East - Flyers, Sabers, Leafs, Senators & Bruins
West - DeadWings, Stars, Flames, Blues & Ducks

And with the Hawks having ALL GAMES, not just road, but home games, on television - this is going to be one freaking sweet season. Not sure, just yet, if we will lift Lord Stanley's hardware, but the Hawks are lining up to hoist that baby soon. Game on!!

So good to be wrong.

So the 2008 MLB season has come to a close, and I am SO GLAD my preseason predictions were wrong, at least in one division. Let's look them over and see how I did, shall we:

AL East - Boston (WRONG - Tampa with the Cinderella season)
AL Cental - Detroit (WRONG - they finished dead last)
AL West - Seattle (WRONG - finished even worse that Detroit)
Al Wild Card - Cleveland (WRONG - 0 for 4 in the AL predictions)

NL East - Philadelphia (DING DING!)
NL Central - Milwaukee (WRONG - so close, they got the wild card)
NL West - Arizona (WRONG - they were doing good until the last couple weeks of the season)
NL Wild Card - Chicago (WRONG - they won the division over the Brew Crew)

For playoff team wise, I got four of the 8 picked. Ok - now for the predictions that really matter:

Boston and the Angels - Angels in 5
White Sox and Rays - Sox in 4
Phillies and Brewers - Phillies sweep
Cubs and Dodgers - Dodgers in 4

Angels and White Sox - Sox in 7 (team love) Angels in 6 (gut)
Phillies and Dodgers - Phillies in 7

White Sox and Phillies (team love) - Sox in 7
Angels and Phillies (gut) - Phillies in 7
